Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 9, 2026
Privacy at a glance
- We never sell your data. Not your voice, not your contacts, not your usage. Ever.
- Your voice memos are yours. They're processed to build your contact notes, then live under your control — delete them (and everything derived from them) at any time.
- No voiceprints. We never use your voice to biometrically identify anyone.
- Your notes about people stay private to you. We don't contact the people in your journal, advertise to them, or share their details.
- You're in control. Access, correct, export, or delete your data whenever you want.
This Privacy Policy explains how Netch, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Netch," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website (getnetch.com), our mobile application, and related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
- Account information: name, email address, password, profile photo, school or employer, and similar profile details.
- Voice memos: audio recordings you choose to record in the app, and the transcriptions generated from them.
- Contact journal data: the notes, names, details, tags, reminders, and profiles you create about people you meet (see Section 3, which deals with this specially).
- Event and location data: collected only when you explicitly opt in to location features (such as event check-in or Live Radar).
- Waitlist and communications: your email address when you join the waitlist or subscribe, and the contents of messages you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data: device type, operating system, app version, language, and crash logs.
- Usage data: features used, screens viewed, and interaction events.
- Approximate location: inferred from IP address (city/region level).
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 7.
2. Voice Data & AI Processing
Netch is a voice-first product, so we want to be unusually clear about this:
- Voice memos you record are transmitted securely and processed by speech-to-text and AI language-model providers acting on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations, solely to provide the Service (transcription, contact extraction, reminders, and message drafts).
- We do not create voiceprints or use your audio to biometrically identify you or anyone else.
- We do not sell your voice data, and we do not permit our AI providers to use your audio or transcripts to train their general-purpose models without your explicit consent.
- AI outputs (extracted names, details, drafted messages) are suggestions generated from your input. They may contain errors — review before relying on them.
- Deleting a voice memo also permanently deletes its transcription and all AI-derived data generated from it, within 30 days (see Section 9).
3. Information About Your Contacts
When you record a memo or write a note about someone you met, you are storing information about another person (such as their name, role, employer, or what you discussed). For this data:
- We process it solely to provide the Service to you — your private journal, reminders, search, and drafts.
- We do not use it to contact those individuals, build advertising profiles, market to them, or enrich third-party databases.
- We do not sell it or share it with other users (unless you explicitly share something yourself).
- You are responsible for using this feature lawfully and respectfully — see our Terms of Service.
- If you believe someone has stored your personal information in a Netch user's private journal and you wish to exercise privacy rights over it, contact us at hello@getnetch.com and we will respond consistent with applicable law.
4. How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service and develop new features
- Transcribe voice memos and generate contact profiles, reminders, and outreach drafts using AI
- Operate opt-in location features (event check-in, Live Radar)
- Communicate with you about the Service, your account, and (with your consent where required) product news — you can opt out of marketing at any time
- Monitor, secure, and debug the Service; prevent fraud and abuse
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
We do not use your content (voice memos, transcripts, contact notes) for advertising, and we do not engage in automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
5. Location Data
Precise location is collected only when you explicitly opt in (for example, checking in to an event with Live Radar). Live Radar location data is ephemeral — it is deleted automatically when you check out, and in any event within 4 hours. You can toggle your visibility at any time. Disabling location permissions in your device settings does not affect the rest of the Service.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months. We do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined under California law). We disclose information only:
- To service providers (hosting, cloud storage, speech-to-text and AI processing, analytics, email delivery, customer support) bound by contracts limiting their use of your data to providing services to us;
- To other users — only the profile information you deliberately choose to share (e.g., your digital card or QR profile);
- For legal reasons — to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Netch, our users, or the public;
- In a corporate transaction — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality and this Policy's protections; or
- With your consent or at your direction.
7. Cookies & Analytics
Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential: security and basic site functionality (including Cloudflare's infrastructure cookies), plus a local-storage entry that remembers your light/dark theme choice.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site usage. Google may set cookies and collect your IP address and page interactions. You can opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or your browser's cookie controls.
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by law. Because we do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising, there is nothing further to opt out of.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and least-privilege practices. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
9. Data Retention
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account information | Life of your account; deleted within 30 days of account deletion |
| Voice memos & transcripts | Until you delete them; deletion cascades to all AI-derived data within 30 days |
| Contact journal data | Until you delete it or your account; removed within 30 days |
| Live Radar location | Ephemeral — deleted on check-out, at most 4 hours |
| Waitlist email | Until launch communications conclude or you unsubscribe |
| Backups & logs | Purged on a rolling basis within 90 days |
We may retain limited information longer where required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention.
10. Your Rights & Choices
Wherever you live, you can:
- Access, correct, or update your personal information in the app
- Export a copy of your data
- Delete individual memos, contacts, or your entire account (Settings → Delete Account)
- Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any message
To exercise any right, you can also email hello@getnetch.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you specific rights. In the preceding 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, IP address); audio information (voice memos you record); commercial information (waitlist and account activity); internet activity (usage and device data); geolocation (approximate; precise only with opt-in); professional/educational information (school, employer, role you provide); and inferences (e.g., suggested follow-up timing) — in each case for the purposes in Section 4, from the sources in Section 1, disclosed only as described in Section 6.
You have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; delete personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither); limit use of sensitive personal information (we use sensitive information — such as precise geolocation and audio — only to provide the Service, which is a permitted purpose, and we do not use it to infer characteristics); and non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
Submit requests at hello@getnetch.com. You may use an authorized agent; we will require proof of authorization and verification of your identity. We will respond within the timeframes required by law (generally 45 days, extendable once by 45 days with notice).
12. European & UK Users (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, Netch, Inc. is the data controller of your personal data. Our legal bases for processing are:
- Performance of a contract — providing the Service you signed up for (account, voice processing, journal, reminders);
- Consent — optional features like precise location, and marketing communications (withdrawable at any time);
- Legitimate interests — securing and improving the Service, preventing abuse, and analytics, balanced against your rights; and
- Legal obligation — where processing is required by law.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent without affecting prior processing. Your data is processed in the United States; where required, transfers are protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or other approved mechanisms. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, though we'd appreciate the chance to address your concern first at hello@getnetch.com.
13. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@getnetch.com.
14. International Transfers
We are based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have data-protection laws different from those of your jurisdiction; we apply the safeguards described in this Policy wherever your data is processed.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will provide prominent notice (such as email or an in-app notice) before the changes take effect, and we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
